The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 124th edition of the GAA's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament, played between 32 counties of Ireland, London and New York. The draw for the 2010 championship took place on 22 October 2009. The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final took place at Croke Park on 19 September 2010, with Cork narrowly defeating Down to win their seventh title, and their first since 1990. The 2010 Championship made history when none of the provincial champions (Meath, Tyrone, Kerry, Roscommon) progressed to the semi-final stage; this was the first time this had happened ( made possible by the introduction of the qualifier system in 2001). This statistic is made all the more noteworthy by the fact that not only did none of the four provincial winners progress to the semi-final stage, none of the four provincial runners-up (Limerick, Louth, Sligo, Monaghan) made it to the semi-final stage either. ==Format== Four knockout (single elimination format) provincial championships were played. London and New York competed in Connacht. The four provincial champions advanced to the All-Ireland quarter-finals. *The 16 teams eliminated before reaching a provincial semi-final competed in Round One of the Qualifiers (New York did not compete).
